Your native-level Japanese proficiency allows you to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, ensuring that legal considerations are integrated into business operations seamlessly. You possess a strong ability to balance growth and risk in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating creativity and strategic thinking in your legal approach. You are proactive in learning and tackling new challenges, adapting flexibly to the rapidly changing business landscape in Japan. Your collaborative spirit enables you to work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business, Product, Operations, and Compliance, to drive projects forward.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support Coupang's business operations in Japan, focusing on eCommerce, product launches, and compliance matters. You will advise on various contracts, drafting and negotiating agreements with stakeholders to ensure alignment with legal requirements. Collaborating closely with internal departments, you will facilitate the launch of new businesses and products, ensuring that all legal aspects are thoroughly addressed. You will also coordinate with external law firms as necessary, providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with Japanese laws and regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the legal landscape as Coupang continues to expand its innovative food delivery services in Japan.
