You are an exceptional lawyer with a strong background in employment law, ready to support Uber's growing businesses across Japan and Korea. You possess strong written and oral communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively. Your commercial mindset allows you to navigate the intricacies of employment law while providing practical solutions to legal challenges. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are inquisitive, always looking to spot issues and address them proactively. You understand the importance of collaboration and are comfortable working closely with HR and other internal teams to manage employment-related matters.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support Uber's operations in Japan and Korea by advising on a wide range of employment legal matters. You will liaise with the policy team to engage in government relations initiatives and advocate for reforms that benefit the business. Handling litigation disputes will be a key responsibility, as you will advise on employment litigation involving both employees and drivers/delivery partners. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in tax, regulatory legal, product development, and policy teams to identify and mitigate employment law risks. Additionally, you will provide guidance to Uber's HR team on various employment matters, including recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, compensation, benefits, and terminations. Your role will also involve partnering with HR and internal audit on projects, initiatives, investigations, and risk management efforts.
