Site Reliability Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have a strong background in site reliability engineering, with at least 3-5 years of experience in maintaining cloud infrastructure. Your expertise in distributed systems allows you to ensure high availability and performance, and you have a solid understanding of storage technologies including block, file, and object storage. You are proficient in automation tools and have experience with self-healing systems, which helps you drive reliability initiatives effectively. Your programming skills in Python and familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes enable you to build and optimize complex systems. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers to implement robust solutions that support AI and HPC workloads. You are committed to sustainability and innovation, aligning with Crusoe's mission to create responsible cloud infrastructure.

Desirable

Experience with NVMe and SSD-backed storage systems is a plus, as is familiarity with data replication, encryption, and backup strategies. If you have worked in environments focused on AI or high-performance computing, that would be advantageous. You are also comfortable with Linux systems and have a good grasp of monitoring tools to ensure system reliability.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the performance and reliability of Crusoe's cloud storage products. You will build automation tools to monitor and maintain the distributed cloud storage infrastructure, ensuring it meets the demands of compute-intensive workloads. Your work will involve implementing and optimizing data replication and backup strategies, as well as developing failover mechanisms to enhance system resilience. You will collaborate with storage engineers to maintain high-performance storage volumes that support large-scale AI compute clusters. Your initiatives will directly contribute to the sustainability of Crusoe's cloud platform, making a tangible impact on the company's mission. You will also participate in incident response and capacity planning, ensuring that the infrastructure can scale effectively as demand grows. Your role will be pivotal in driving innovation within the team, as you explore new technologies and methodologies to improve system performance and reliability.
