Databricks is hiring a Senior Account Executive for the Public Sector in Japan to drive strategic sales and adoption of their data and AI platform. You'll leverage your experience in SaaS, cloud, AI, and big data to build relationships with government entities.

Who you are
You have over 8 years of experience in SaaS, cloud, AI, or big data sales, particularly within the public sector in Japan. Your background includes a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and winning new customers in government and public institutions. You excel at building executive relationships and have a deep understanding of the digital government landscape in Japan.
You are solution-oriented and employ a value-based sales approach that connects Databricks' offerings to measurable outcomes for public services. Your strategic mindset allows you to develop and execute clear territory and account strategies, identifying and prioritizing high-potential public sector accounts effectively.
You thrive in collaborative environments, orchestrating internal teams and partner ecosystems to drive successful sales motions. Your insights into AI and data use cases in government operations help influence product direction and regional strategy, ensuring that you remain at the forefront of industry trends.
Desirable
Experience with public sector modernization initiatives is a plus, as is familiarity with the specific challenges faced by central ministries and local governments in Japan. You are comfortable navigating complex sales cycles and have a knack for turning initial projects into broad, impactful data and AI platforms.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the full sales cycle for Databricks' data and AI platform within Japan's public sector. Your primary responsibility will be to drive adoption across central ministries, local governments, and public institutions, ensuring that you exceed revenue targets by winning new customers. You will develop and execute a territory strategy that identifies and prioritizes high-potential accounts, planning and documenting the expansion of Databricks usage in newly landed accounts.
You will proactively identify new AI and data use cases in government operations, feeding these insights into the public sector go-to-market strategy. Collaborating closely with internal teams and partners, you will orchestrate effective sales motions that deliver successful customer outcomes. Your role will also involve building and maintaining executive relationships, ensuring that you are seen as a trusted advisor in the public sector.
