Who you are
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that handle large-scale data workloads. You possess deep knowledge of Java and are familiar with various cloud platforms, including AWS. Your experience enables you to design reliable and secure services that meet the needs of data teams across different industries.
You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions. Your strong communication skills allow you to articulate technical concepts clearly, making you an effective team member in a dynamic environment.
Desirable

What you'll do
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Databricks, you will be a founding member of the Berlin site, contributing to the development of the Lakehouse Platform. You will engage in the entire development cycle, from design to deployment, ensuring that the services you create are high-performing and secure.
You will work on various challenges that span product and infrastructure, including building client libraries for accessing large amounts of data on cloud storage backends like AWS S3 and Azure Blob Store. Your role will involve collaborating with product teams to develop features that empower customers to leverage deep data insights effectively.
You will also be responsible for monitoring and optimizing the performance of the services you build, ensuring they meet the high standards expected by Databricks' customers. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Lakehouse vision, helping to shape the future of data and AI infrastructure.
