You have a proven track record of leading engineering teams, with a focus on performance and scalability. Your experience includes identifying performance limitations and guiding teams to develop effective solutions. You are skilled in building partnerships across engineering organizations and have a strong understanding of performance benchmarks and competitive analysis. You are committed to fostering a collaborative team environment and recruiting top-tier talent to drive success.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are adept at using telemetry and customer signals to inform performance improvements and have a strategic mindset that prioritizes delivering the best performing systems in the industry. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about driving impactful projects that enhance product performance.

Desirable

Experience with data and AI infrastructure platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with performance engineering tools and methodologies. A background in software development and a deep understanding of system architecture will help you excel in this role. You are open to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and practices that can enhance team performance.

What you'll do

As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead the Performance Engineering team in evaluating the performance of Databricks products. You will set performance targets for software releases and guide teams in developing performance benchmarks. Your role involves conducting competitive benchmark analysis and performing deep dive analyses to identify and resolve performance issues. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to drive performance and scalability projects, ensuring that Databricks delivers the fastest and most cost-effective solutions in the market.

You will oversee the recruitment and development of top-tier talent, fostering a well-organized and synergistic team structure. Your leadership will be crucial in building partnerships with various engineering organizations, driving initiatives that enhance product performance and scalability.
