What you'll do
As the Senior Engineering Manager for Lakeflow Designer, you will lead a team of engineers in building a new Visual and AI-first editing experience for Databricks SQL. You will be responsible for guiding the team through the development process, from the current Private Preview stage to General Availability (GA) within the next 6-9 months. You will work closely with product management and design teams to ensure that the user experience is intuitive and meets the needs of less technical users. You will also focus on scaling the team from its current size of approximately 6 engineers to 10-15 over the next year, ensuring that the team is equipped with the right skills and resources to succeed. You will implement best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and deployment processes, to maintain high standards of quality and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on product vision and strategy, ensuring that the Lakeflow Designer product contributes to the overall success of Databricks. You will also be involved in stakeholder management, communicating progress and challenges to senior leadership and ensuring alignment with business goals.
