You have a strong background in machine learning and data engineering, with at least 5 years of experience developing and deploying AI models that enhance product capabilities. Your expertise in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch allows you to build state-of-the-art AI systems that directly impact user experience. You are comfortable working with large datasets and have a solid understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and improve product performance.

You are passionate about advancing AI technologies and have experience with generative AI applications. You understand the challenges of deploying machine learning models at scale and are adept at optimizing performance through fine-tuning and hyperparameter adjustments. Your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex issues such as code suggestion and error detection, making you a valuable asset to any team.

What you'll do

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Databricks, you will shape the direction of our applied AI initiatives, driving the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI models and systems. You will collaborate with product teams to enhance the capabilities of our GenAI products, such as Databricks Assistant and AI/BI Genie. Your role will involve designing and implementing machine learning pipelines that facilitate rapid experimentation and iteration, ensuring that our models achieve optimal performance on specific tasks and domains.

You will lead efforts to develop novel data collection and fine-tuning techniques, contributing to the overall quality of our large language models (LLMs). Your responsibilities will include working closely with AI researchers and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of AI features into our products. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of learning and innovation within the team.
