You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on performance optimization and scalability. Your background includes working with large-scale systems, and you have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and data processing. You are proficient in programming languages such as Java and Python, and you have experience with performance monitoring tools and techniques.
You are skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks and have a proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions. Your analytical mindset allows you to evaluate system performance based on telemetry and customer feedback, and you are comfortable conducting competitive benchmark analysis to drive improvements.
You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark will further enhance your ability to contribute to our team.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer - Performance at Databricks, you will play a critical role in ensuring our data and AI infrastructure platform operates at peak performance. You will work closely with various teams to set performance targets for software releases and guide them in developing performance benchmarks. Your responsibilities will include running competitive benchmark analyses for different Databricks products and conducting deep dive analyses to identify and resolve performance issues.
You will leverage your expertise to evaluate the performance of our entire stack, utilizing telemetry and customer signals to pinpoint limitations and drive enhancements. Your insights will directly impact the performance of our systems, ensuring that we deliver the best possible experience to our customers.
You will also be involved in developing and implementing strategies to improve system resilience and scalability, collaborating with engineers to design solutions that shield our customers from hardware, network, and operating system faults. Your contributions will help shape the future of our platform, making it one of the best-performing systems in the industry.
