You'll collaborate with engineers and product managers to develop effective customer-focused content. This role requires experience with data products and a passion for instructional writing.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in technical writing, particularly in the realm of data products — your experience allows you to quickly grasp complex technologies and convey them in a clear, user-friendly manner. You are passionate about instructional writing, focusing on clarity and user engagement, ensuring that your content is not only informative but also accessible to a diverse audience.

Your ability to learn new technologies quickly is one of your key strengths — you thrive in environments where you can continuously expand your knowledge and apply it to your writing. You take an information architect's approach to organizing material, ensuring that users can easily navigate through documentation and find the information they need.

Attention to detail is paramount in your work — you advocate for the customer by ensuring that all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and user-centric. You understand the importance of collaboration and are eager to work closely with engineers and product managers to develop effective, customer-focused documentation.

You have experience collaborating with customer-facing technical staff, such as support engineers and solutions architects — this experience has equipped you with the insights needed to create best practices and onboarding materials that resonate with users. Your writing not only informs but also empowers users to utilize the platform effectively.

Desirable

Experience with data and AI infrastructure is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to create relevant content that meets the needs of data teams. Familiarity with various documentation tools and platforms will also be beneficial in streamlining your writing process and improving the overall quality of the documentation.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that guides users on how to effectively use Databricks' platform. You will collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to ensure that the documentation accurately reflects the features and functionalities of the product. Your work will involve developing user guides, tutorials, and best practice documents that cater to data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts.

You will also engage with customer-facing technical staff to gather insights and feedback, which will inform the development of onboarding materials and scenario-based guidance. Your ability to distill complex technical information into clear, concise content will be crucial in helping users understand and leverage the platform to its fullest potential.

As part of your responsibilities, you will guide the development of an information architecture that enhances the usability of the documentation. You will ensure that all content is organized logically and is easy for users to navigate. Your attention to detail will help maintain the accuracy and relevance of the documentation as the platform evolves.

You will play a critical role in the customer success team, ensuring that users have the resources they need to succeed with Databricks. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience and satisfaction, making your role essential to the company's mission of enabling data teams to solve complex problems.
