Who you are
You have extensive experience in managing a high-performing Enterprise Sales team within a B2B technology company — you've successfully driven new business and expansion bookings in complex environments. Your leadership style emphasizes mentorship and guidance, enabling your team to excel in their roles and achieve their targets. You understand the nuances of the Public Sector industry and can navigate its unique challenges effectively.
You possess strong relationship-building skills — you know how to foster connections with Named Enterprise accounts and guide your team through complex negotiations. Your strategic mindset allows you to shape go-to-market strategies that resonate with your region's specific business needs. You are data-driven, using productivity metrics to coach your team on deal size, win rates, and forecast accuracy.
You thrive in a collaborative environment — working closely with Marketing, Product, and Success teams to create targeted messaging and collateral that aligns with customer journeys. You are comfortable leading client and prospect meetings, engaging corporate resources as needed to support your direct reports.
Desirable
Experience in the Public Sector is a plus, as is familiarity with the specific challenges and opportunities it presents. A background in technology sales, particularly in cloud-based solutions, will enhance your ability to lead your team effectively.
What you'll do
As the Director of Enterprise Sales at Datadog, you will manage, hire, train, and ramp a team of Enterprise Sales Executives responsible for driving new business within the Public Sector. You will set and achieve annual Enterprise bookings quotas, guiding your team through monthly and quarterly targets. Your role will involve developing and managing your team on key productivity metrics, ensuring they are equipped to lead customers through a proactive sales cycle.
You will coach your Sales Executives on building executive relationships with Named Enterprise accounts, helping them navigate complex deals and negotiations. Your strategic input will shape the direction of the go-to-market strategy and execution for your region, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.
Conducting weekly forecast meetings will be a key responsibility, allowing you to stay informed on your team's progress and adjust strategies as necessary. You will support your direct reports by participating in client and prospect meetings, leveraging your expertise to engage other corporate resources when required.
