Who you are
You have a strong background in technical sales, with experience in engaging customers and articulating the value proposition of complex products. Your ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, allows you to convey technical advantages and business benefits clearly. You are experienced in programming or scripting with languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or Go, which enables you to understand and address customer needs effectively.
You are passionate about educating customers on observability risks that are meaningful to their business, and you can build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer. Your strong communication skills help you maintain a productive dialogue with both customers and internal teams, ensuring that feedback is effectively communicated and acted upon.
What you'll do
As an Enterprise Sales Engineer at Datadog, you will partner with the Sales team to articulate the overall value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers. You will own the technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, ensuring that they understand how Datadog can meet their needs. Your role will involve delivering product and technical briefings to potential clients, helping them navigate any issues or concerns they may have.
You will leverage your advanced competitive knowledge and technical skills to technically close complex opportunities, ensuring that customers see the value in Datadog's offerings. Maintaining accurate notes and feedback in the CRM regarding customer input, both wins and losses, will be crucial for continuous improvement. You will proactively engage and communicate with customers and Datadog's business and technical teams regarding product feedback and the competitive landscape, helping to shape the future of Datadog's products.
