Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in designing and implementing scalable systems. Your expertise lies in solving complex engineering challenges and you have a strong understanding of distributed systems. You are a technical authority who enjoys collaborating with engineering teams to set standards and best practices in backend architecture.

You possess deep knowledge of Java and have experience with various backend technologies, including Redis for caching and PostgreSQL for database management. Your understanding of security best practices ensures that the systems you design are robust and secure. Excellent communication skills are essential, and while fluency in English is required, knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

What you'll do

As a Backend Staff Engineer at DEUNA, you will take on the responsibility of designing and evolving the backend architecture for our AI-powered payments platform. You will work closely with Engineering Managers to ensure that backend systems are scalable, secure, and efficient. Your role will involve tackling highly complex engineering challenges and making architectural decisions that impact the entire organization.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement backend solutions that power mission-critical product capabilities. Your expertise will guide the team in adopting best practices for backend development, ensuring that the systems are not only functional but also optimized for performance.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their roles. You will also participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code is maintained across the team.
