Backend Engineer

You have a strong background in backend engineering, particularly with Golang, and are passionate about building scalable systems that handle high traffic. Your experience includes designing and implementing backend services that meet strict performance requirements, and you are comfortable analyzing production behavior to optimize system performance.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join Equativ’s core engineering team in Berlin, focusing on the design and implementation of high-performance Golang services. Your work will directly impact production systems that serve millions of viewers and requests per second, especially during high-profile live events like the Soccer World Cup on Magenta TV. You will be involved in both functional product features and non-functional aspects such as performance optimization, scalability, and system stability.

You will regularly analyze production behavior and improve algorithms based on real traffic patterns. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of custom debugging, monitoring, and observability tools tailored to our platform. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that the services you build can be reliably operated in production, organizing your work independently, and transparently communicating your progress and challenges to the team.
