Figma is seeking a Senior Technical Revenue Manager to lead ASC 606 assessments and develop revenue recognition policies. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and work with SaaS and AI products. This role requires expertise in revenue management and accounting.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in revenue management, specifically with ASC 606, and a strong understanding of SaaS and AI-based products. Your expertise includes navigating complex revenue recognition scenarios and developing comprehensive technical memos that guide revenue treatment for diverse contract structures. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk to ensure compliance and clarity in revenue practices.
You are detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to assess and interpret complex contracts and pricing models effectively. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders is a key strength, enabling you to bridge gaps between finance and operational teams. You are proactive in identifying areas for improvement in revenue processes and playbooks, ensuring they evolve with the business's growth.
Desirable
Experience with multi-element arrangements and variable consideration is a plus, as is familiarity with quote-to-cash systems. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are adaptable to changing business needs. A background in technology or software companies will help you understand the nuances of Figma's offerings and customer contracts.
What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as Figma’s go-to expert on ASC 606 for SaaS and AI products, leading assessments and providing guidance on revenue recognition policies. You will own and evolve the revenue playbook, authoring and updating policies that support Figma’s diverse contract structures. Your collaboration with Deal Desk, Sales, and Legal will be crucial in reviewing complex and non-standard contracts, ensuring that revenue treatment aligns with accounting standards and business objectives.
You will also play a critical role in shaping Figma's revenue recognition policies as the company scales. This includes developing clear and comprehensive technical memos that articulate the rationale behind revenue treatment decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to determine the appropriate revenue treatment for new products and pricing models, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
