Overview

Filigran is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help bootstrap a new Governance, Risk, and Compliance product. You'll work with JavaScript, React, and Node.js to build a scalable solution. This role requires a strong background in software engineering and product development.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on building scalable applications. Your expertise in JavaScript, React, and Node.js allows you to create dynamic and responsive user interfaces while ensuring robust backend functionality. You are product-minded, understanding how to translate user needs into technical solutions that drive value.

You thrive in agile environments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to define technical architecture and product vision. Your experience with full-stack development enables you to design and implement complex systems that balance rapid iteration with high code quality. You are passionate about cybersecurity and eager to contribute to innovative open-source solutions that enhance organizational security.

Desirable

Experience with data visualization techniques and tools is a plus, as you will be responsible for designing risk heatmaps and financial impact timelines. Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance frameworks will help you understand the context of the product you are building. You are a proactive problem solver, ready to tackle complex challenges like real-time risk quantification algorithms and automated threat-to-asset correlation.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join the OpenGRC team at Filigran, where you will play a key role in bootstrapping a brand new product from scratch. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager and a small, agile squad to define the technical architecture and build the MVP of our Governance, Risk, and Compliance solution. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing a clean, scalable Single Page App (SPA) that can be deployed both as SaaS and On-Premise.

You will be involved in core engine development, creating backend services that are performant and reliable. Your work will include designing complex data visualizations that effectively communicate risk and compliance information to users. You will balance the need for rapid iteration with the importance of maintaining high code quality, ensuring that the foundation you lay supports a scalable open-source product.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will engage with various stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback, iterating on the product based on user insights. You will also contribute to the product vision, helping to shape the direction of the solution as it evolves.

What we offer

At Filigran, you will be part of a mission-driven company dedicated to revolutionizing cyber threat management. We offer a collaborative and inclusive work environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the cybersecurity ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. We value diverse backgrounds and perspectives, believing that they enhance our ability to create effective solutions. Join us in building the future of cybersecurity together.
