Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have tackled complex issues in distributed systems. You possess deep expertise in Java and are comfortable working with REST APIs, ensuring that the services you build are efficient and reliable. Your experience includes designing and implementing scalable backend systems that support various business features, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can work closely with product, design, and engineering teams.

You are adept at leading the scoping, design, and implementation of APIs, driving production rollouts to completion with minimal oversight. You understand the importance of agile methodologies and are skilled at rolling out changes in a manner that favors small, frequent iterations. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that user and partner experiences are prioritized in your work.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing various backend systems that support all business features at Flex. You will design, develop, test, and scale systems needed to deliver great user and partner experiences, particularly in the context of rent payments. Collaborating closely with your product, design, and engineering peers, you will solve pressing problems around rent payment, ensuring that the solutions you create are user-friendly and efficient.

You will roll out changes to customers in an agile manner, favoring small, frequent iterations that allow for quick feedback and adjustments. Your responsibilities will include leading the design and implementation of APIs, ensuring that they meet the needs of the business while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability. You will also be involved in testing and monitoring the systems you build, ensuring that they operate smoothly in production environments.
