Who you are
You are an Engineering Technician with a passion for building hardware and a hands-on approach to engineering. You thrive in interdisciplinary environments and enjoy working across various engineering functions to bring innovative ideas to life. Your experience includes prototyping and testing systems, and you have a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles. You are detail-oriented and skilled in using tools for fabrication and inspection, ensuring high-quality results in your work.
You have experience with CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, and are comfortable fabricating mechanical parts quickly and efficiently. Your technical skills include working with PCB assemblies and creating custom electrical cabling. You are familiar with inspection tools such as CMM, calipers, and multimeters, which you use to ensure that parts meet specifications. You are eager to learn and grow in your role, contributing to the development of cutting-edge 3D printing technology.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Technician at Formlabs, you will be responsible for building and modifying prototypes of next-generation 3D printers and accessory equipment. You will fabricate and machine high-quality mechanical parts rapidly, ensuring that prototypes are ready for testing and evaluation. Your role will involve performing board-level rework on PCB assemblies and creating or modifying custom electrical cabling to meet project requirements.
You will set up and perform engineering tests to validate the functionality and performance of prototypes. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you inspect parts using various measurement tools to ensure they meet quality standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers and other team members throughout the development process, contributing your insights and expertise to improve designs and processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in 3D printing technology, working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

At Formlabs, we offer a competitive salary range of $55,000—$72,000 USD, along with equity in the form of RSUs.
