Formlabs is hiring a Senior NPI Manufacturing Engineer to design and manage assembly processes for innovative 3D printing technology. You'll work cross-functionally with various teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency. This position requires experience in manufacturing engineering.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, particularly in new product introduction (NPI) processes. Your experience includes creating and managing line layouts, standard operating procedures, and equipment requirements for complex assemblies. You are skilled in breaking down complex processes into logical parts and subassemblies, ensuring efficiency and quality in production.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working cross-functionally with mechanical design, electrical, and materials teams. Your analytical skills allow you to assess production lines effectively, defining processes that enhance productivity and reduce errors. You are passionate about developing and deploying custom tooling and calibration equipment to improve assembly processes.
What you'll do
In this role, you will create and manage line layouts and standard operating procedures for complex assemblies. You will define, develop, and manage initial prototype lines for module and system-level assembly, ensuring that all processes adhere to design specifications. Establishing calibration and assembly checks throughout the assembly process will be a key responsibility, allowing you to catch failures early and maintain high-quality standards.
You will analyze production lines to define processes that optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that the manufacturing processes align with product design and quality expectations. You will also be responsible for training team members on new processes and ensuring that all safety and compliance standards are met.
