Who you are
You have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, particularly in new product introduction (NPI) processes. Your experience includes creating and managing line layouts and standard operating procedures for complex assemblies, ensuring that production flows smoothly and efficiently. You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including mechanical design, electrical, and materials engineers, to develop innovative solutions that enhance manufacturing capabilities.
You possess a keen analytical mindset, allowing you to analyze production lines and define processes that catch failures early in the assembly process. Your attention to detail ensures that calibration and assembly checks are established throughout the production cycle, maintaining adherence to design specifications. You thrive in a hands-on environment where you can contribute to the development and deployment of custom tooling and calibration equipment.
What you'll do
As a Senior NPI Manufacturing Engineer at Formlabs, you will be responsible for designing new assembly processes and layouts that optimize production efficiency. You will create and manage line layouts, standard operating procedures, and equipment requirements for complex assemblies, breaking them down into logical parts flow of subassemblies and sub-processes. Your role will involve defining, developing, and managing initial prototype lines for module and system-level assembly, ensuring that all processes are well-documented and standardized.
You will establish calibration and assembly checks throughout the assembly process to ensure adherence to design specifications and catch failures earlier in the process. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you analyze production lines, define processes, and implement improvements that enhance overall manufacturing efficiency. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that the manufacturing processes align with product development goals and timelines.
