GenScript is seeking a Customs Trade Compliance Expert to ensure adherence to import/export regulations and act as the primary contact for customs clearance. This role is based in Piscataway, NJ, with a salary range of $85,000 - $105,000.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong understanding of customs regulations and compliance requirements, with experience in import/export processes. Your attention to detail ensures that all documentation is accurate and compliant with U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). You are proactive in identifying potential compliance issues and have a track record of successfully navigating complex regulatory environments.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively liaise with customs officials and internal stakeholders. Your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams ensures that compliance is integrated into all aspects of the business. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated on changes in trade regulations that may impact the organization.
Desirable
Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is a plus, as is familiarity with the specific compliance challenges faced in these sectors. A background in legal or regulatory affairs can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all import and export activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. You will act as the primary point of contact for customs clearance, working closely with logistics and supply chain teams to facilitate smooth operations. Your expertise will help mitigate risks associated with non-compliance, and you will develop and implement compliance training programs for staff.
