What you'll do

As a Backend Engineer in the Database Excellence group, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the frameworks, patterns, and tooling that ensure GitLab's application datastores remain scalable, healthy, and safe. You will collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to implement best practices and optimize database performance across GitLab.com and thousands of self-managed instances. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews to uphold high standards of quality.

You will also engage in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to database performance and reliability, ensuring that the systems you work on can handle the demands of a growing user base. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of GitLab's platform, allowing teams to work more effectively and deliver value to customers.
