Who you are

You are an experienced security professional with a strong background in information security, having spent at least 5 years in roles that required hands-on technical skills and leadership abilities. You excel at solving complex security issues and have a proven track record of working collaboratively with development and operational teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the software development lifecycle.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey security risks and remediation strategies to stakeholders at all levels. Your experience includes performing security assessments and prioritizing security risks, ensuring that you can provide valuable mentorship to system owners on how to address vulnerabilities.

You are comfortable working in a remote environment and are adaptable to the needs of your team, whether that involves occasional office visits for events or offsites. Your proactive approach to identifying security threats in applications and infrastructure sets you apart as a leader in the field.

Desirable

Experience with security frameworks and methodologies is a plus, as is familiarity with compliance standards relevant to the industry. You may also have experience in building repeatable and reusable security processes that enhance the overall security posture of the organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying security threats across GoDaddy's applications and infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and development teams to find innovative ways to reduce vulnerabilities at scale. Your hands-on approach will involve conducting security assessments and providing mentorship to system owners on remediation strategies.

You will also be tasked with building and refining security processes and frameworks that can be reused across the organization, ensuring that security is a fundamental aspect of the development lifecycle. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders will be crucial as you present high-quality deliverables and security assessments.

As a Principal Security Engineer, you will lead initiatives that enhance the security posture of GoDaddy, ensuring that security considerations are integrated into all aspects of product development. You will work on large-scale security challenges and be a key player in fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization.
