Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in building and scaling high-performance teams. Your expertise in Java and JavaScript allows you to influence technical roadmaps and drive technical excellence within your team. You understand the importance of optimizing user experiences and have a passion for creating seamless and trustworthy payment integrations.
As a hands-on leader, you excel in mentoring engineers and fostering a culture that values experimentation and performance. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Analytics, to continuously improve the donor experience. Your strong communication skills enable you to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Desirable
Experience with A/B testing frameworks and a deep understanding of payment systems will set you apart. Familiarity with fraud and risk management in online transactions is a plus, as is a background in working with high-traffic web applications.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the Checkout team at GoFundMe, responsible for the end-to-end donation funnel. Your primary focus will be to maximize conversion rates while minimizing friction in the checkout process. You will champion experimentation and A/B testing to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that our payment integrations are seamless and reliable.
You will drive technical excellence by mentoring your team and promoting best practices in software development. Your leadership will help shape a culture that values autonomy and performance, encouraging team members to take ownership of their work. You will collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to ensure that user flows are intuitive and meet the needs of our donors.
Additionally, you will influence the technical roadmap, ensuring that the team is aligned with GoFundMe's mission of helping people help each other. Your role will involve regular communication with stakeholders to report on progress and gather feedback, ensuring that the team is continuously improving.
