Overview

Google is hiring a Strategic Negotiator III to lead negotiations and manage land development projects for data centers. You'll work with utility infrastructure and site planning while leveraging your expertise in real estate and project management. This role requires 6+ years of experience in relevant fields.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Civil Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, along with 6 years of experience in leading and negotiating utility infrastructure, supply, and service agreements. Your background includes managing land development projects or supporting site planning and development, particularly in heavy industrial or data center sectors. You possess strong project management skills and are comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time as required.

Your preferred qualifications include experience in real estate development, evaluation, acquisition, construction, and site selection for industrial-scale projects. You have a solid understanding of power transmission and distribution, telecommunications infrastructure, and data center technology, as well as industrial-class electrical and cooling technology. You are knowledgeable about indirect taxes, economic development policy, and infrastructure development, and you have experience in drafting agreements and developing presentations.

You are adept at financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, and you understand the trade-offs necessary to meet company requirements. Your ability to think outside the box allows you to propose commercially and technically creative solutions, and you thrive in ambiguous, collaborative, and fast-paced environments.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison for utility supply strategy, facilitating negotiations between internal teams and providers to secure the resources necessary for planned data center developments. You will oversee development activities to meet or exceed delivery timelines set by internal capacity planning teams, ensuring that infrastructure is available ahead of operational needs. Your responsibilities will include leading negotiations for utility infrastructure agreements and managing relationships with key stakeholders to drive project success.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of land development projects are aligned with company goals and timelines. Your role will involve evaluating potential sites for data center development, conducting feasibility studies, and presenting findings to senior management. You will also be responsible for monitoring project progress and making adjustments as necessary to keep projects on track.
