Google is seeking a Data Center Services Manager to oversee the design and construction of data center projects. You'll manage schedules, budgets, and vendor relationships while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires extensive experience in mission-critical facility environments.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments. Your background includes at least 3 years of experience developing and managing managers, showcasing your leadership capabilities. You are well-versed in project and vendor management, ensuring that all aspects of construction projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

With 15 years of experience preferred, you bring a wealth of knowledge in managing construction projects within international environments, including commercial agreement management and procurement. Your expertise extends to managing vendor relationships, and you possess a deep understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry. You have hands-on experience working within the mission-critical sector, particularly with data center equipment and environments, including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Services Manager (DCS), you will play a pivotal role in the design development and localization of data center projects. You will be responsible for procurement, schedule and cost management, delivery, commissioning, handover, and close-out of these projects, including facility upgrades within operational data centers. You will collaborate closely with local and regional facility managers, plant engineers, and various teams including design, project controls, delivery, and commissioning to develop solutions at pace.

Your responsibilities will include managing schedules, budgets, and inter-dependencies while maintaining industry-leading Environmental, Health, and Safety standards. You will oversee the identification, selection, and onboarding of new regional contractors and vendors to enhance the current workforce. Additionally, you will manage a campus-wide data center construction and delivery organization, acting as the single point of accountability for new construction projects or capital improvement projects in existing facilities, utilizing both internal and extended workforce resources.
