This position requires 5+ years of experience in mission-critical facility design.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments. Your expertise includes bidding, designing, operating, and commissioning electrical distribution systems from high voltage transformers to branch circuits. You are skilled in performing power system analysis and utilizing common engineering software packages, and you have a proven track record of identifying and resolving electrical infrastructure issues raised by cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
You may also hold a Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a relevant field, or possess a professional engineering license. Your experience includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand interrelated issues, including structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, and architectural aspects. You are adept at preparing technical documentation, including facility review checklists, facility audits, statements of work, and total cost of ownership analysis. You are willing to travel 30% of the time domestically and internationally.
What you'll do
In this role, you will collaborate with various teams, such as Third-Party Data Center Operations, Energy and Land Strategy, and Front-End Planning, to deliver innovative electrical solutions. You will drive technical due diligence and ensure Quality Assurance/Quality Control to maintain high standards across all regions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the design and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring they meet Google's rigorous standards for efficiency and reliability. You will also be involved in the commissioning of new facilities, working closely with construction teams to ensure that all electrical systems are installed correctly and function as intended.
You will be expected to lead discussions with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress. Your role will require you to stay current with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering, ensuring that Google remains at the forefront of data center technology. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers.
