Overview

Google is seeking a Silicon SoC Chip Lead to oversee the design and development of chips for AI/ML applications. You'll leverage your expertise in silicon design and chip integration, specifically focusing on TPU technology. This role requires 10 years of experience in silicon design and management.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with 10 years of experience in silicon design, verification, implementation, and chip integration. Your background includes management experience in ASIC development teams, and you have successfully led design teams working on digital designs that have been taped-out and produced working silicon. You possess a strong understanding of design parameters, Quality of Results (QoR) metrics, and data trend analysis, which are crucial for driving successful chip development.

Your expertise extends to engineering across design, verification, physical design, and implementation, with a specific focus on Graphic Data System (GDS) tape-out. You are knowledgeable about delivering silicon in various technology process nodes and have the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively. Your passion for shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration drives you to innovate and push boundaries in custom silicon solutions.

Desirable

Experience with extraction of design parameters and analyzing data trends is a plus. Familiarity with TPU architecture and its integration within AI/ML-driven systems will further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will oversee the design and development of chips for Google's AI/ML applications, specifically focusing on TPU technology. You will lead the chip design process from architecture to design closure, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently. Your responsibilities will include participating in design reviews, tracking issue resolution, and engaging in technical and schedule trade-off discussions to meet project goals.

You will create execution plans for projects and manage team efforts from concept to working silicon in volume. Understanding architecture and design specifications with the larger team will be essential, as you will define physical design strategies and tactics to meet quality and schedule goals. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving the innovation behind products that impact millions of users worldwide.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to developing cutting-edge technology that powers the most demanding AI/ML applications. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and creativity. We value your expertise and are committed to supporting your professional growth as you contribute to shaping the future of technology.
