Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. With 5 years of experience working with, supervising, and managing third-party logistics relationships, you understand the complexities of logistics operations. Your background includes managing warehousing and supply chain operations, and you have experience in managing third-party vendors. You are willing to travel up to 25% of the time as required.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's or MBA degree in a related field, along with certification in Project Management or from the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). You have experience in quality control, inventory accuracy, safety, and security, and possess knowledge of warehouse processes, including inbound and outbound operations, storage, and material handling. You apply structured thinking and logic to tasks while providing innovative solutions to problems.
What you'll do
As a Logistics Operations Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, coordinating with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You will be responsible for optimizing daily logistics processes while incorporating current best practices. Your role will involve managing third-party logistics costs, including reviewing invoices and controlling spending. You will develop productive and meaningful relationships with key internal business partners to innovate on key programs aimed at improving speed, productivity, and quality of execution. Additionally, you will manage a third-party logistics team and lead by example in safety commitments to ensure logistics operations are completed safely.
