Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or operations. Your background includes working with Vendor Management Systems (VMS), specifically Fieldglass/SAP, which has equipped you with the skills to navigate complex vendor relationships effectively. You excel in collaborating with cross-functional corporate functions such as Finance, Legal, or Procurement, and have experience leading or providing functional direction within an operational team.
Your familiarity with legal tooling and e-billing solutions allows you to advocate for business-specific technical requirements with central systems teams, ensuring that bespoke needs are met. You have a proven ability to implement operational efficiencies or AI tools to optimize workflows and reduce manual overhead. Excellent project management skills enable you to manage multiple workstreams in a changing, ambiguous environment, making you a valuable asset to any team.
What you'll do
As part of the Global Affairs Vendor Management Operations (GA VMO) team, you will provide leadership and operational oversight for all vendor relationships within Global Affairs. Your role will ensure that GA's engagements with its extended workforce are compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with Google's goals and policies. You will manage key aspects of the vendor life-cycle, including strategy, onboarding, and performance, enabling Global Affairs teams to work efficiently and effectively with our vendor partners.
In your capacity as the Supplier Strategy and Operations Specialist, you will act as an advisor to internal managers, leveraging your applied expertise to guide them through specialized workflows. You will develop and evolve operational playbooks to ensure alignment with organizational shifts, while proactively identifying opportunities to leverage AI and automation solutions to eliminate manual friction and enhance operational velocity. Your contributions will be crucial in driving the success of the Vendor Management Office within the Solutions Enablement team.
