Who you are

You hold a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, and have experience in mechanical engineering through internships, academic research, or publications. Your background includes working with electronics packaging, server systems, and data centers, equipping you with the knowledge to tackle complex engineering challenges. You are familiar with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal analysis techniques, pipe flow calculations, and structural modeling techniques, which are essential for designing efficient systems. Additionally, you have experience with advanced cooling techniques such as liquid cooling, thermal interface materials, and heat exchangers, which will be crucial in your role.

What you'll do

As a Product Design Engineer at Google, you will design and evaluate data center systems, identifying product requirements and contributing to research and project planning. You will be responsible for developing specifications and test procedures to ensure the reliability and performance of electronic equipment. Your role will involve collaborating with suppliers to design and develop excellent products while mentoring engineers in all aspects of concept development, analysis, design, and specification. You will work on optimizing architectures that scale with Google's growth, focusing on components like heat exchangers, air movers, and pumps. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Google's infrastructure.
