Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, along with 5 years of experience in semiconductor supply chain, product engineering, or NPI program management. Your educational background may also include a Master's degree or PhD with an emphasis on computer architecture, showcasing your deep understanding of the field. You are familiar with managing program-level sourcing, tracking hundreds of line items such as components, boards, and chips, and have experience working in a post-silicon validation lab or as a product engineer. Your ability to navigate high-ambiguity environments where engineering specifications change frequently is a key strength.

You understand the pain points of bring-up and have familiarity with major ATE vendors like Teradyne and Advantest, as well as the ecosystem of probe card and socket suppliers. Your knowledge extends to the tape-out to bring-up process, allowing you to effectively manage the flow of engineering work in progress (WIP). You are adept at operating under tight deadlines and are committed to delivering results that meet the high standards expected at Google.

What you'll do

As a Global Commodity Manager, you will lead the sourcing and supply chain execution for our Silicon engineering groups. Your responsibilities will include managing the procurement and logistics for our Test Vehicles (TVs) and Multi-Project Wafers (MPWs), ensuring that all components are delivered on time to meet critical tape-out deadlines. You will be responsible for getting the first wafers from the Fab, through bumping and packaging, and onto the tester in the lab. Additionally, you will manage the Research and Development (R&D) silicon budget, tracking high-value NRE spend such as masks, tooling, and IP access fees. Your role will require you to provide should-cost analysis for custom test hardware, ensuring that all procurement activities align with the overall goals of the engineering teams.
