Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent practical experience, and bring at least 12 years of experience in commodity management or supply chain management, particularly in the data center or mission-critical industry. Your background includes specific experience in memory commodity management, such as HBM, Memory DDR5, or Server DIMM, which equips you to handle the complexities of this role effectively.

Your expertise extends to agreement and supplier development, allowing you to navigate the intricacies of supplier relationships and negotiations. You are familiar with the dynamics of the data center memory commodities market and understand how to leverage this knowledge to optimize costs and improve supplier performance.

What you'll do

As a Senior Global Commodity Manager, you will develop and execute commodity strategies that align with Google's innovative product goals. You will lead cross-functional teams through the supplier selection process for new platforms and components, ensuring that the supplies and equipment meet the high standards required for production. Your role will involve conducting business discussions and securing comprehensive agreements with suppliers, which are critical to maintaining Google's competitive edge.

You will maintain a high level of industry expertise and monitor supplier and market conditions to manage performance in cost, quality, delivery, and technology alignment. Additionally, you will propose and implement supply chain improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the board. Your ability to address material management and shortages will be vital, as you act as the escalation point between internal teams and memory suppliers, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently.
