Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, along with 12 years of experience in technical sourcing or sourcing management. Your background includes at least 3 years of managing GPU, custom ASIC, or High-Performance Compute (HPC) hardware supply chains, showcasing your deep understanding of the industry.

Your proficiency in agreement negotiation allows you to structure, review, and finalize agreements with external vendors and partners effectively. You possess expertise in ASIC or chip design, including architecture definition, RTL coding with Verilog or VHDL, synthesis, and modern design methodologies or chip testing, which is crucial for this role.

You are knowledgeable about AI/ML workload requirements and how they impact GPU performance, specifications, and total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling. Your excellent communication skills enable you to articulate technical or business topics clearly and concisely to executive leadership, driving effective cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do

As a Commodity Manager at Google, you will work closely with Engineering teams to ensure that the company has the supplies and equipment necessary to bring innovative products to production. You will leverage your industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize the total cost of ownership for Google's global infrastructure.

Your role will involve managing supplier business reviews, focusing on performance in technology alignment, cost, quality, and delivery while implementing supply chain improvements. You will conduct supplier negotiations, including comprehensive agreements, and define cost drivers, developing cost models and establishing should-cost analysis to ensure efficiency.

You will translate internal needs into effective supplier strategies and commercial agreements, ensuring that GPU generations align with Google's requirements. Your ability to manage supplier performance will be key in driving technology alignment and achieving cost savings that significantly impact Google's bottom line.
