Interaction Designer • Senior

Who you are

You have 6+ years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design — you've successfully created user flows and wireframes that enhance user experiences across multiple platforms. Your strong understanding of visual design principles allows you to create aesthetically pleasing and functional designs that resonate with users.

You hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, and a Master's degree in design or a related field is preferred. You have experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineers and product managers to deliver scalable solutions that drive measurable product impact.

Your knowledge of user-centered design principles and systems thinking enables you to approach design challenges holistically. You are familiar with designing for various platforms, including iOS, Android, and Web, and you have a keen interest in emerging technologies such as AI and LLMs.

You are passionate about creating intuitive and easy-to-use interfaces for billions of users worldwide. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy mentoring other designers, fostering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages collective design thinking.

Desirable

Experience with design systems and a portfolio showcasing your work will set you apart. Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in design is a plus.

What you'll do

As a Senior Interaction Designer at Google, you will take complex tasks and make them intuitive for users. You will be involved in the entire design process, from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes. Your role will require you to articulate design positions and challenge partners to ensure high design quality across the product path.

You will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, and Engineers to gather insights about user attitudes and behaviors. Your contributions will help shape the user experience of the YouTube Main App, ensuring it remains user-focused and impactful.

You will lead cross-functional stakeholders to land scalable solutions that drive measurable product impact. Your ability to prioritize team success and coach other designers will be crucial in fostering a culture of excellence within the UX team.
