Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in software development. With 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, you have a strong background in working with storage systems and products. Your expertise includes developing software applications using C or C++, and you are proficient in Linux. You also have a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms, which you have applied in your previous roles.

In addition to your technical skills, you have spent 3 years in a technical leadership role, guiding project teams and setting technical direction. Your experience with high-performance storage systems or devices, including large-scale deployment and management, has equipped you with the knowledge to work effectively with suppliers and manufacturers. You are familiar with Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) firmware, driver, and system software, as well as the technology and applications of flash memory.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at Google, you will provide technical leadership and direction for projects while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will design, develop, and review system designs and code from peers, ensuring that the solutions meet the high standards expected at Google. Your role will involve developing and maintaining platform storage analytics infrastructure to monitor, troubleshoot, and derive insights on the storage devices in the fleet.

You will be responsible for leading the development of next-generation storage technologies that handle information at massive scale. This includes working on innovative solutions that extend beyond traditional web search, impacting how billions of users connect and interact with information.
