Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 8 years of experience in software development. With 3 years of experience in software design and architecture, you are well-versed in platform hardening, including securing bootloaders and implementing hardware-based security controls. Your experience extends to network infrastructure devices, where you are knowledgeable about the security protocols and configurations of routers, switches, and firewalls. You have a strong technical leadership background, having led project teams and set technical direction in complex, matrixed organizations.

You are familiar with NIST specifications and Trusted Computing Group (TCG) standards, such as TPM and Secure Boot. Your expertise includes designing and auditing complex network architectures to ensure defense-in-depth and zero-trust principles. You bring fresh ideas from various areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, and security. You thrive in environments that require collaboration across cross-functional teams and are eager to influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, influencing and coaching a distributed team of engineers. You will facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines, managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale software solutions that meet Google's high standards for security and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software you develop aligns with the company's mission to change how billions of users connect and interact with information.
