Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in hardware engineering, specifically in signal integrity and PCB design. Your experience includes developing and simulating PCB structures to ensure high-speed SERDES and DDR interfaces perform correctly within system budgets. You are familiar with industry best practices in high-speed digital system design and have a deep understanding of the materials and techniques necessary for low-loss designs.

You are an expert user of high-speed PCB simulation tools and have a proven track record of collaborating with CAD engineers to design component signal launches from BGA components and connectors. Your ability to define low-loss materials for future designs demonstrates your forward-thinking approach to engineering challenges. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to delivering high-quality results.

Desirable

Experience with high-speed digital systems and a solid understanding of signal integrity principles are highly desirable. Familiarity with the latest PCB design software and tools will set you apart as a candidate. You are also open to learning and adapting to new technologies as they emerge in the fast-paced AI compute landscape.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, extracting, and simulating PCB structures to ensure optimal performance of high-speed SERDES and DDR interfaces. You will work closely with PCB and package substrate CAD engineers to design component signal launches and layer transitions, ensuring that all designs meet the required performance standards. Your expertise will be crucial in defining the low-loss materials used in future designs, collaborating with Graphcore’s system architecture team and suppliers to achieve the best possible outcomes.

You will engage in hands-on simulation and testing of PCB designs, analyzing performance metrics and making necessary adjustments to improve signal integrity. Your role will involve continuous communication with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines. You will also contribute to the development of best practices and guidelines for signal integrity within the organization, helping to elevate the overall quality of engineering outputs.
