Who you are

You have a strong background in security engineering with a focus on threat detection — you've built and implemented detection logic across various platforms and understand the intricacies of malicious activity detection. Your experience includes developing attack simulation scenarios and testing detection effectiveness, ensuring that security measures are robust and reliable. You are skilled in collaborating with engineering teams to enhance security technologies and have a proven track record of improving alert quality in partnership with incident response teams. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to consult stakeholders on security-related subjects effectively. Your technical expertise is complemented by a collaborative mindset, enabling you to work well within a team to tackle complex security challenges.

Desirable

Experience with automation tools and methodologies is a plus — you understand how to leverage automation to improve efficiency in threat detection processes. Familiarity with various security platforms and incident response frameworks will enhance your ability to contribute to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take complete ownership of the threat detection engineering program, leading initiatives that span the full lifecycle of threat detection. You will build and refine detection use cases, ensuring they are effective against a variety of attack stages. Your responsibilities will include developing attack simulation scenarios to test the effectiveness of detection logic and collaborating closely with engineering teams to implement necessary technologies. You will also engage with the incident response team to enhance the reliability of alerts and improve overall security posture. Your work will involve consulting with stakeholders on security best practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of security measures at HubSpot.
