Who you are
You have extensive experience in cybersecurity, particularly in incident response and threat detection β you've led teams in managing security operations and have a deep understanding of cloud, endpoint, and identity systems. Your leadership skills shine as you foster a culture of proactive security within your organization, ensuring that all team members are engaged in maintaining a secure environment.
You are adept at managing security operations centers (SOC) and have a proven track record of governing the incident response lifecycle β from preparation to recovery, you ensure that your team is well-prepared to handle any security incidents that arise. Your experience with external vendors and threat intelligence services allows you to contextualize intelligence and act upon it effectively.
Your technical skills include proficiency with tools such as Panther SIEM and CrowdStrike Falcon β you are comfortable overseeing detection engineering and threat hunting, ensuring that your organization is equipped to handle emerging threats. You understand the importance of creating and maintaining incident response playbooks and escalation processes, and you continuously seek to improve these frameworks.
You have a strong background in leading security crisis simulations and tabletop exercises β your ability to conduct post-incident reviews helps your organization learn from past experiences and improve its security posture. You are committed to enhancing detection capabilities and automating response processes to minimize the impact of incidents on business operations.
Desirable
Experience with compliance frameworks and regulations is a plus, as is familiarity with various industries such as Financial Services and Fintech. You are also open to learning new technologies and methodologies to stay ahead in the cybersecurity landscape.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own and evolve the overall Detect & Respond strategy, influencing technology and engineering partners to advance Jumioβs security posture. You will lead the 24Γ7 Security Operations Center (SOC) and govern the end-to-end incident response lifecycle, ensuring that your team is prepared to detect, contain, eradicate, and recover from incidents effectively.
You will manage external incident response retainers and vendors, ensuring that relevant threat intelligence is contextualized and acted upon. Your oversight of detection engineering and threat hunting will involve working with tools like Panther SIEM and CrowdStrike Falcon, as well as telemetry from Okta and AWS.
You will support the creation and maintenance of incident response playbooks and escalation processes, ensuring that all controls, processes, and automations operate effectively and are continuously improved. Leading security crisis simulations and tabletop exercises will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will conducting post-incident reviews to enhance organizational learning.
