Who you are
You have a background in engineering with a focus on manufacturing processes — your experience includes creating and adapting process documentation to ensure efficiency and compliance. You are skilled in using AutoCAD to create and maintain engineering drawings and CAD models, which are essential for the production environment. Your ability to evaluate and select components and subassemblies demonstrates your understanding of mechanical design and production needs.
You are a problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment — working closely with mechanical design engineers, you investigate and solve production problems effectively. Your experience in designing and building mechanical tooling showcases your hands-on skills and technical expertise. You are familiar with utilizing SPC data and tools to characterize equipment processes, ensuring operational limits and robustness are maintained.
You are committed to continuous improvement — championing projects that support best-in-class Lean manufacturing systems is part of your professional ethos. You understand the importance of data-driven operational decisions and are adept at integrating factory data systems to enhance process performance.
What you'll do
In your role as a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be responsible for configuring and optimizing the production space to meet the company's needs. You will create and adapt process documentation, including Manufacturing Instructions and Control Plans, ensuring they are kept current and relevant. Your responsibilities will also include creating and maintaining sketches and engineering drawings using AutoCAD, which are crucial for the production workflow.
You will evaluate and select components and subassemblies, ensuring that the production process runs smoothly and efficiently. Designing and building mechanical tooling will be a key part of your role, allowing you to directly impact the manufacturing process. You will investigate and solve production problems, working collaboratively with other engineers to implement effective solutions.
Managing production schedules will also fall under your purview, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers on technical matters. You will utilize SPC data and tools to characterize all equipment processes, ensuring that operational limits are adhered to and that the processes are robust.
You will champion continuous improvement projects, focusing on standardization and best practices in Lean manufacturing systems. Your role will require flexibility in your operational schedule, as it may vary based on company needs, and you may need to travel to support shipping, delivery, and product setup.
