Kognity is hiring a Security Engineer to enhance security and resilience across their EdTech platform. You'll work on automating security processes and ensuring compliance with standards like GDPR and SOC2. This role requires production-level coding skills and a strong understanding of security practices.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in security engineering, with a focus on improving security posture and resilience across systems and data. Your experience includes automating security processes such as access controls and compliance checks, ensuring that security is integrated into the development lifecycle. You are well-versed in compliance standards like GDPR and SOC2, and you understand the importance of maintaining a secure environment in an EdTech context.
You possess production-level coding skills, which allow you to contribute to the development of security tools and processes. Your familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS, enables you to implement security measures effectively in a scalable manner. You are also comfortable working with Linux systems, which is essential for managing security configurations and monitoring.
You have a collaborative mindset and enjoy working across teams to foster security awareness and best practices. Your ability to lead and mentor security champions within the organization helps create a culture of security that empowers all employees to contribute to a safer environment.
Desirable
Experience with incident management and response is a plus, as is familiarity with security frameworks and tools. A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks will set you apart in this role.
What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include strengthening the security posture of the platform, automating security processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
You will lead initiatives to enhance security awareness across the organization, mentoring security champions and fostering a culture of security best practices. Your work will have a global impact, as Kognity's platform supports learning in over 120 countries. You will also collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle, ensuring that security considerations are part of every project from the outset.
