Who you are

You have deep hands-on experience with Snowflake administration and database performance tuning — you've managed environments, security policies, and optimized cost and query efficiency in cloud-based data ecosystems. Your proficiency in AWS or Azure allows you to support integrations between Snowflake and various cloud services, including object storage and serverless functions.

You are skilled in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for database deployments using tools like GitLab, Liquibase, or Red Gate — your automation-first engineering mindset helps eliminate operational toil and improve efficiency. You understand the importance of robust monitoring and are adept at troubleshooting ETL/ELT failures, ensuring data observability across batch and streaming architectures.

Your experience includes implementing logging, auditing, and IAM controls to enhance security and reliability — you actively participate in incident response and root cause analysis, demonstrating your commitment to maintaining high operational standards. Collaboration is key for you; you partner with Data Engineering and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Desirable

Experience with Confluent Kafka for streaming operations is a plus, as is familiarity with performance tuning and cost optimization strategies in cloud environments. You thrive in hybrid work settings and are willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC, if necessary.

What you'll do

As a Snowflake & Data Platform Operations Engineer at LendingTree, you will be responsible for managing Snowflake environments and ensuring optimal performance through effective administration and tuning. You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that facilitate seamless database deployments, leveraging your expertise in tools like GitLab and Liquibase.

Your role will involve supporting integrations between Snowflake and AWS/Azure services, ensuring that data flows smoothly between various components of the cloud ecosystem. You will maintain both batch and streaming architectures, utilizing Confluent Kafka to manage data pipelines effectively.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will implement security measures, including logging and IAM controls, to safeguard the data platform. Your participation in incident response and root cause analysis will be crucial in maintaining the reliability of the data operations.

Collaboration with Data Engineering and other stakeholders will be a significant part of your role, as you work to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. You will also be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, focusing on automation and efficiency.
