Who you are
You have a solid background in culinary arts, with experience in high-volume kitchen environments β your strong culinary fundamentals allow you to prepare nourishing and balanced meals with care. You are organized and detail-oriented, confident in managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a collaborative mindset within the galley team. You thrive in fast-paced settings and are ready to step up to support your colleagues, whether that means leading others or filling in for more senior roles when necessary.
You understand the importance of teamwork in a kitchen and are eager to assist the Head and Sous Chef with various tasks, including guest meal preparation and buffet setups. Your ability to work well under pressure and your commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation make you an ideal candidate for this role. You are passionate about providing exceptional dining experiences for guests and crew alike.
What you'll do
As a Chef De Partie aboard a Lindblad Expeditions vessel, you will play a key role in the preparation of high-quality meals, focusing on daily crew meals that are both nourishing and balanced. You will assist the Head and Sous Chef with guest meal prep, buffet setups, and canapΓ©s, ensuring that every dish meets the high standards expected by our guests. Your responsibilities will also include helping with inventory management, provisioning, and sanitation efforts to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
You will work approximately 12 hours per day on a rotational schedule of 8 weeks on and 4 weeks off, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the culinary experience while also enjoying time off to recharge. Your role will require strong time management skills as you navigate the demands of a busy kitchen, ensuring that meals are prepared and served promptly. You will collaborate closely with your team, contributing to a positive and productive atmosphere in the galley.
