Who you are
You have a strong background in operations management, ideally within the travel or expedition industry. Your experience includes overseeing teams and creating efficient systems to enhance operational effectiveness. You are comfortable with travel, spending significant time on ships and in the field, and you thrive in dynamic environments where you can mentor and train others.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with various teams, including product development and field staff. Your leadership style is supportive and empowering, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement among your team members.
What you'll do
As the Field Staff Operations Manager, you will oversee the operational needs and tools for the Field Staff, ensuring that all expedition operations run smoothly. You will create systems and protocols that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. A significant part of your role will involve managing the Expedition Equipment Specialist and working closely with the Expedition Development team to innovate and improve operations continuously.
You will spend 70 to 100 days per year traveling to ships, where you will train staff and mentor Expedition Leaders. Occasionally, you will fill in as an Expedition Leader, providing hands-on leadership and support during expeditions. Your role is crucial in ensuring that guests experience the exhilaration of discovery that Lindblad Expeditions is known for.
