Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and maintaining data systems and pipelines. You understand the importance of data quality and security, and you have a proven track record of delivering reliable data workflows that meet the needs of various stakeholders. Your technical expertise includes proficiency in Python and SQL, and you are familiar with tools like Airflow and BigQuery for orchestrating data workflows.
You are a natural mentor, eager to share your knowledge and best practices with junior engineers. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to align on data needs and project priorities. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly makes you an effective partner in driving data initiatives forward.
You are passionate about data and its potential to drive business insights. You stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data engineering, and you are always looking for ways to improve processes and reduce complexity in data systems. Your experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, enables you to architect scalable solutions that meet the demands of a growing organization.
Desirable
Experience with Docker and container orchestration is a plus, as is familiarity with data visualization tools. You may also have experience in leading architectural reviews and driving post-incident investigations to enhance system reliability and performance.
What you'll do
In this role, you will take full ownership of the design, development, and operation of key data systems and pipelines. You will lead efforts to architect and build scalable batch and real-time data pipelines, ensuring that data is high-quality, secure, and accessible for various use cases across the organization. Your responsibilities will include mentoring junior engineers, driving collaboration with cross-functional partners, and aligning on data needs and project priorities.
You will champion investments in architecture, observability, performance, and tooling, ensuring that the data systems you build are not only effective but also efficient. You will conduct architectural reviews and propose improvements to reduce complexity and operational burden, driving engineering and operational excellence across the team.
Additionally, you will lead post-incident investigations, working to resolve challenging issues and enhance the reliability of data workflows. Your role will be critical in enabling trusted analytics, data science, and AI for all corporate functions, including Finance, Marketing, People, and Enterprise.
