Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data science, particularly in applying causal inference techniques to solve complex measurement problems. Your strong analytical skills allow you to translate ambiguous product launches into concrete causal frameworks and experimental designs. You are proficient in writing clean, efficient production code, and you have hands-on experience with advanced measurement techniques that drive innovation. You thrive in a collaborative environment, partnering deeply with product and engineering teams to shape critical business decisions.
You possess a deep understanding of statistical methodologies and are comfortable working with large datasets. Your ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders is one of your strengths. You are passionate about using data to improve user experiences and drive business growth. You enjoy tackling open-ended problems and have a track record of delivering high-impact results.
Desirable
Experience with machine learning frameworks and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with data visualization tools. You may have worked in a fast-paced tech environment and are comfortable with the challenges that come with it. A background in product management or experience working closely with product teams can enhance your contributions to the Rider New Products team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own complex incrementality measurement problems, rigorously measuring the true incremental impact of new product features. You will lead high-impact causal inference initiatives, driving innovation by introducing advanced measurement techniques to quantify the incremental impact of new rider features. Your work will directly influence the future of the Lyft rideshare experience, shaping critical business decisions based on data-driven insights.
You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, ensuring that your findings are integrated into product development processes. Your responsibilities will include designing and executing experiments, analyzing results, and communicating insights to stakeholders. You will also mentor junior data scientists, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.
