Overview

Machinify is hiring a Staff Data Scientist to advance their machine learning models for healthcare claims auditing. You'll work with Python and SQL to create frameworks that improve business outcomes. This position requires expertise in machine learning and data analysis.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in data science with a focus on machine learning β€” you've developed and deployed models that drive significant business impact, particularly in the healthcare sector. Your expertise in Python and SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, ensuring that your models are both accurate and efficient.

You possess a deep understanding of healthcare data and the complexities involved in claims auditing β€” your experience enables you to identify patterns and anomalies that can lead to substantial cost savings for health plans. You are comfortable diving into clinical and coding audits, unpacking the data that drives audit decisions.

You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working with cross-functional teams β€” you understand the importance of communication and collaboration in achieving project goals. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms makes you an effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You are driven by results and continuously seek to improve your models β€” you thrive on feedback and are always looking for ways to enhance the performance of your work. Your analytical mindset allows you to approach problems methodically, ensuring that you consider all variables before making decisions.

Desirable

Experience with healthcare data and familiarity with claims processing systems would be a plus β€” you understand the nuances of the industry and can leverage this knowledge to create more effective models. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is also beneficial, as it allows you to scale your solutions effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development of machine learning models that assist in the auditing of healthcare claims β€” your work will directly contribute to identifying and recovering funds lost to errors and fraud. You will create technical frameworks and tools that enable your team to scale their efforts and improve business outcomes.

You will collaborate closely with other data scientists and engineers to refine existing models and develop new ones β€” your insights will help shape the direction of the team’s projects. You will also be responsible for analyzing the performance of your models, making adjustments as necessary to ensure they meet the high standards expected in the healthcare industry.

Your role will involve diving deep into various clinical and coding audits, unpacking the data that drives audit decisions β€” you will leverage your analytical skills to identify trends and insights that can inform future model development. You will also mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles.

What we offer

Machinify provides a dynamic work environment where innovation is encouraged β€” you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that is transforming the healthcare industry. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with a commitment to professional development and growth.

Join us in our mission to maximize financial outcomes and drive down healthcare costs β€” your work will have a meaningful impact on the lives of millions. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
