Overview

Meta is hiring a Design Project Lead to oversee the design and construction of data centers. You'll work with stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable infrastructure. This role requires experience in critical facilities design and construction.

Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in the design and construction of critical facilities, particularly data centers β€” your expertise allows you to navigate complex engineering challenges while ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. You are skilled in leading cross-discipline teams, collaborating with various stakeholders, and managing projects from conception through to completion.

Your background includes a strong understanding of mechanical cooling and power distribution systems β€” you are adept at integrating these elements into the design process to optimize performance. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively liaise with internal teams and external partners, including engineers of record and general contractors.

You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable providing directional guidance aligned with fast-tracked design and construction processes β€” your leadership style fosters collaboration and innovation among team members. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Desirable

Experience with advanced design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, is a plus β€” familiarity with project management methodologies will enhance your ability to lead effectively. A background in civil, structural, or architectural disciplines will further strengthen your candidacy.

What you'll do

As the Design Project Lead, you will oversee the design and construction administration of data centers, acting as the Owner’s Representative β€” your role will involve coordinating with the Civil, Structural, Landscape, and Architecture (CSLA) disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution. You will collaborate closely with the Design Engineering organization and internal partners, such as Planning and Development, to align project goals and timelines.

You will be responsible for managing the design process, ensuring that all engineering considerations are incorporated from micro-levels, such as server and IT equipment design, to macro-levels, including mechanical cooling and power distribution options. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering data center capacity safely and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of quality.

You will also engage with external partners, including regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance with all necessary standards and regulations β€” your ability to navigate these relationships will be key to the success of your projects. You will provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

What we offer

Meta offers a dynamic work environment where you can make a significant impact on the infrastructure that supports our software operations β€” you will be part of a team that values innovation and efficiency. We provide competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth within the organization. Join us in shaping the future of data center design and construction.
