Job Description
Who you are
You have significant experience in legal counsel, particularly in employment, incentives, and pensions, ideally within a regulated banking environment. Your expertise allows you to navigate complex legal frameworks and provide sound advice to various stakeholders within the organization. You are adept at understanding the nuances of employment law and its implications on business operations, ensuring compliance while supporting the company's mission to innovate in banking.
You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to articulate legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Your ability to build relationships and trust within the organization is crucial as you work closely with the Director of Legal - EIP and other members of the Legal & Board Governance Collective. You are proactive in identifying potential legal issues and providing solutions that align with the company's goals.

Desirable

What you'll do
In this role, you will take on the day-to-day responsibility of advising on employment, incentives, and pensions-related matters. You will work closely with various teams across the organization, providing legal guidance that supports Monzo's strategic objectives. Your role will involve drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
You will also be responsible for advising on employee benefits and incentive schemes, ensuring they are structured in a way that aligns with both legal requirements and Monzo's values. Your expertise will be critical in navigating complex legal issues that arise in a fast-paced banking environment, and you will play a key role in supporting the company's growth and innovation.
Collaboration will be a significant part of your role, as you will partner with HR and other departments to address legal concerns and implement best practices. You will also be involved in training and educating staff on legal matters related to employment and pensions, fostering a culture of compliance and awareness within the organization.
